Tamang Heritage Trek difficulty & Altitude Sickness

Tamang Heritage Trek is an easy trek. The trial involves many ascends and descends, which requires good physical fitness and sound health. Previous trekking experience is not needed to go on Tamang Heritage Trekking. There can be a few rugged and steep walking, however it will not be strenuous.

Tamang Heritage Trek 11 Days takes you above 2,500 meters, but the risk of altitude sickness is very less to negative because our itinerary is designed properly with the constant increase in elevation. Still, we suggest you keep yourself hydrated during the trek to avoid altitude sickness.

Best time to go on Tamang Heritage Trek

Spring i.e. March to April and Autumn i.e. October to November is the best time to go on Tamang Heritage Trekking. These months offer stable weather and mild climate, which is very important for a smooth journey. Likewise, in spring, you get to see numerous flora and fauna. The entire trail gets covered with different vegetation. Similarly, in autumn, Nepali people celebrate a range of festivals including the national festival called Dashain. Traveling in autumn will allow you to join one of these festivals.

Accommodation & Meals

Tamang Heritage Trek offers guesthouse accommodation. Guesthouses in this part of Nepal are pretty basic with limited services. The rooms are sold out on a twin-sharing basis along with a common washroom. The best thing about this accommodation is that you get to experience the lifestyle of locals. You might get services like a hot shower, etc at some guesthouses, but you may have to pay a few extra bucks.

You will get three meals a day- breakfast, lunch & dinner. The meals will be served as per the menu of the guesthouse. Tibetan and Nepali dishes are mostly found with a few Indian & Continental options. Regardless, you will have good options to choose from to dig in.

Communication & Electricity

As it is not that of a high altitude journey, you will get cellular network in most places. However, the signal can get disturbed due to the remoteness of the region. The same goes for the Wifi facility. Likewise, electricity is available in all villages. Locals here also use solar electricity most of the time. If you are carrying an electric device, then we highly suggest you pack extra batteries with you and not completely rely on charging.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is important to have during the journey in the remote areas, where there are no proper facilities of basic infrastructures. Travel insurance will let you enjoy the journey without thinking about any issues. Your travel insurance must cover things like air evacuation, hospital bills, medical bills, flight cancellation, and loss or theft of personal property. Foreigners are not allowed to get travel insurance in Nepal, therefore get one in your country and carry documents while traveling to Nepal.

Guide & Porter

You will be assisted by a professional and experienced Sherpa guide during Tamang Heritage trekking. Our guide has several years of expertise on the trail of the Himalayas. During the tour, he will not only lead you to the destination, but also introduce the region, people, and cultural heritage to you. The guide is very important to have while traveling in the mountains because they are well-known with the route and the difficulties that may arise while trekking.

Environmental Contribution

During Tamang Heritage Trek, you will be traversing through the fragile ecosystem of the Himalayas, which demands the utmost care and responsible journey. We have designed our Tamang Heritage Trek itinerary adopting sustainable and eco-friendly tourism. We have incorporated several measures into our trips that you will get to see while traveling with us. Likewise, we also operate a small organization, which has been funding education for children from underprivileged families in the mountain villages.
