You arrive at Chitwan either by taking a scenic bus/van ride or a short flight. Upon reaching Chitwa, you move to the hotel or resort that has been booked by the company as per your budget. You will have a few hours to relax. Later, in the evening, you will visit nearby Tharu villages, where you get to see the culture and tradition of the Tharu people.

Today, the day begins early in the morning, and you go on an adventurous canoe ride. After that, you return to the hotel/resort and have your breakfast. Later, you will visit the Chitwan National Park and go on Elephant Safari. You will also have a deep jungle walk and visit the Elephant Breeding Center. During your safari, you get to see a range of wildlife, birds, and flora. In the late evening, you will see a gorgeous sunset and return to the hotel/resort for the night stay.

Best time to go Chitwan Jungle Safari

Chitwan National Park offers a range of climates, which allow you to have a very unique experience, unlike any other place. There are three main seasons that the park sees- summer, monsoon, and winter. From October to February, the average temperature recorded was 25°C, while from March to June, the temperature reached up to 43°C. If you want to spot birds, then September and November and February and April is the best time to visit this park as migratory birds join the residential birds.

Spring (March to April) and Autumn (mid-September to November) is the best time to go on Chitwan Jungle Safari. During this time of the year, the weather is mostly moderate, with warm days and chilly nights. This time is best to spot wild animals, birds, and many vegetations. 

How to reach Chitwan National Park?

You can reach Chitwan by taking a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan in a private tourist bus or van. You can also take a short flight from Kathmandu to Bharatpur and take a short drive to the park.

  • By Land: While driving from Kathmandu or Pokhara, you take an early morning ride via Mugling and Narayanghat Highway to reach Chitwan. The drive will be around five hours long.
  • By Rafting: Leaving Kathmandu or Pokhara around 7:00 am in the morning, you drive to the bank of Trishuli River and have breakfast. After that, you begin rafting on the river enjoying the beautiful scenery and reach the end of the river from where you drive to the hotel/resort.
  • By Air: There are several flights from Kathmandu to Pokhara that will lead you to Bharatpur from where you drive to the hotel/resort
