Useful Information

Baruntse Expedition difficulty & Altitude Sickness

Climbing Mt. Baruntse is less technical and more physically demanding. The route to the summit is known to be semi-technical and offers you experience as climbing 8,000 meters Himalayan mountain. There are several massive ice-cliffs, steep snow slopes, and difficult sections to cross before reaching the summit. You have to be physically strong and healthy to be part of Baruntse Expedition with prior trekking & climbing experience.

The expedition takes you to a very high altitude from the sea level that your body is not used to at all, causing a high risk of acute mountain sickness. To lower the chances of altitude sickness, we spend several days on the base camp and slowly gain elevation. We have designed our Baruntse Expedition itinerary adding ample rest days.

Best time to go on Baruntse Expedition

Climbing Mt. Baruntse is perfect from March to April and September to November. The weather remains mostly stable with clear views and pleasant weather. Likewise, you will get to see a diverse range of flora throughout the trail in these months of the year.

Accommodation & Meals

Teahouse and camping will be your accommodation during Mt. Baruntse Expedition. You will get basic service in the teahouse with a shared room and washroom. Likewise, all the tents and necessities are carried by the crew members. With us, you get high-quality tents to spend time on the base camp and above.

Three meals a day are included in the package. In the teahouse, the meals will be served as per their menu, and during climbing, all the meals will be cooked by the team. You will get quite an option to dig in from Nepali, Indian, Tibetan to Continental cuisines.

Communication & Electricity

Electricity is available throughout the trail, however charging facilities may or may not be there all the time. Therefore, carry extra batteries and solar charging devices. Similarly, as the elevation will increase, the network service will get affected. Carry local SIM cards for fast and effective service. We will be equipped with ample fuel and satellite phones to use during the climbing period.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is must to have to join the Baruntse Expedition. The insurance must cover air evacuation, hospital bills, and medical bills. Also, flight cancellation and loss or theft of property are recommended to have in the travel insurance.

Guide & Porter

During the climbing, you will be assisted by our professional and expert climbers. The team will be formed with experienced porters and Sherpa guides who will make sure you reach the summit successfully and return safely.

Environmental Contribution

We include different measures during our expeditions. All of our equipment and gears are from sustainable brands. We clean all the camps before leaving it and not leave our waste behind. Similarly, we encourage fellow travelers to not litter the trail and not use any kind of use & throw products. We also run a small organization that funds education of children from the mountain.
