Annapurna Base Camp Trek difficulty & Altitude Sickness

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a moderate trek. The trail offers mixed terrain and involves several ascends & descends. You have to walk 6 to 7 hours a day to a minimum. There will be a few steep and rugged paths as well. To go on Annapurna Base Camp Trekking, you have to be in good health and physical fitness. Likewise, strong determination and will power are also needed as the trek happens in a remote mountainous region.

Altitude sickness can become a major issue during a high altitude journey if not handled properly. We Adventure Small World has crafted our Annapurna Base Camp Trek itinerary including ample rest days in between the trek. Other things like drinking plenty of water and avoiding alcoholic drinks & smoking will keep you away from altitude sickness.

Accommodation & Meals

You stay overnight in the lodge during Annapurna Base Camp Trekking. Lodges in this part of Nepal offer basic services like a twin-sharing room with a common washroom most of the time. Similarly, you might get a hot shower facility in some villages, but you have to pay a few extra bucks to use the service. If you want a single room, then do let us know beforehand so we can arrange that for you in advance. However, it is not guaranteed you will get a single room, and the price can get double the amount of shared room.

The package includes three meals a day- breakfast, lunch & dinner. All the meals will be served as per the menu of the lodge. You can expect to get home sort of food. Tibetan, Nepali, Indian, and Continental dishes are available on the menu. You will have a range of items to choose from. As the elevation will increase, the menu will get limited.

Communication & Electricity

The network can be available until certain points. As you will be traversing in the remote Himalayan region, the availability of communication is limited. You will get the chance to send a message to your family a few times during the trek. Likewise, locals here are more dependent on solar electricity than hydropower. Charging your electric appliances can be possible at some lodges, however you might have to pay a few extra bucks for that. Therefore, make sure to carry extra pairs of batteries with you.

Isn't trekking in the remote region means getting away from the modern facilities and unwind yourself in nature?
