The langtang region is aptly know by the valley of glaciers which runs parallel with the Tibetan border north of Kathmandu. It is sandwiched between the main Himalayn range to the north and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks to the south of Langtang lirung(7246m. that dominates the valley to the north, gang chhenpo(6388m.and Naya kanga ri(5846m.) lies to the south and Dorje lakpa(6966m.) protects the East end of the Valley. This isolated region is inhabited by Tamang who religious practices, language and dress are much more similar to those of Tibetans. This area was hugely effected by big earthquake April 2015 the trek this region will be very helpful for local.
