Once you will arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our team members will welcome you there, and take you to your hotel. Later, in the evening, you will visit a restaurant for your welcome dinner organized by the company. You will also meet with your guide and he will brief you about the trip.

Today, we fly to Lukla airport after having breakfast. The flight will be scenic and offers us spectacular views of Himalayas. Upon reaching Lukla, we will meet with the rest of the team members and trek towards Phakding village. From here onwards, the region will present us mountain landscapes along with a blissful freshness in the air carried away from the Himalayas. The trail will lead us to Cheplung village, which will welcome us with a wonderful view of Mt. Khumbila (5,761m). Further, we will descend down to Phakding village located in the north of Lukla in the Dudh Koshi River Valley.

From Phakding, we head towards Namche Bazar crossing several villages like Jorsale and Monjo. Moreover, Monjo is also the entry point of Sagarmatha National Park. From here, the trail goes through the national park that includes numerous untamed streams, small rivers, alpine woods, and thick forests. We will reach Namche Bazar, the tourist hub as well as the biggest village in the Khumbu region.

Today is the first rest day of our trip. We will spend our day exploring around the village and hiking to nearby areas for panoramic views. After having breakfast, hike to Syangboche Airstrip from where the captivating view of Namche Bazar along with Himalayan mountains can be seen. Later, we head to the Everest View Hotel, which offers a view of Mt. Everest (8,848 m). We will then return to Namche and visit the Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest Photo Gallery.

Today, we will trek towards Tengboche, which is famous for the Tengboche Monastery, the oldest and largest monastery of the Khumbu region. The trail opens out to Dudh Koshi River Valley at Phungki Thanka village. From here, trekking along the Dudh Koshi River on a forested trail, reach Tengboche village located at the junction of the Dudh Koshi River and Imja Khola River. Upon reaching the village, we visit the Tengboche monastery where we will get to see ancient manuscripts, several antiques, sculptures, and paintings. From the monastery, superb views of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m), and many other mountains can be seen.

After having a warm breakfast, you begin trekking towards Dole. It is going to be a short walking day today. Trekking through terraced fields and small villages, you reach Dole for a night stay.

The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River and gradually ascends to Machhermo. You also pass by dense forests of rhododendron before reaching Machhermo village.

You wake up early and begin the day ascending towards Gokyo village. On the way, you pass by stunning lakes enjoying striking views of mountains like Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, etc.

Today, we wake up early in the morning and hike up to Gokyo Ri from where we will see the best view of the entire region. After soaking the beauty in our memory, we descend to Gokyo village for a night stay.

You wake up early in the morning and begin ascending towards Renjo La Pass. The trail will be tough and steep. Upon reaching the top of the pass, we get to see outstanding views of the snow-capped mountains. The trail then descends to Lundhen.

Leaving Lundhen behind, you descend to Thame. The trail passes by small villages. On the way, you get to see beautiful scenery and snow-capped mountains views.

After having breakfast, you retrace the path. The trail offers stunning landscape views. Passing through lush forests of pine, fir, rhododendron, juniper, etc, you drop down to Namche Bazar.

After having breakfast, you begin descending steeply and cross a suspension bridge. Further, the trail will pass by colorful prayer flags, chortens, mani walls, and small gompas. Trekking through lush forests of pine & rhododendron, small villages, and crossing various streams, you reach Lukla.

After having light breakfast, we fly back to Kathmandu. During the flight, we get to see the last views of the Himalayan mountains. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we will head to our hotel and freshen up. Later in the evening, we visit a restaurant to have farewell dinner organized by Orbit Alpine Adventure.

Today, you have an extra day in Kathmandu that you can use to explore around and do shopping. In the evening, you meet with other team members over farewell dinner and end your day with lots of laughter.

Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek route

From Kathmandu, you will take one of the most sensational flights of your life to the Lukla airport. Upon reaching here, you will meet with the rest of the crew members and begin trekking towards Namche Bazar via Phakding. You will take a rest day here and spend your day exploring around the village and hike to the Everest View Hotel for a panoramic view of the Himalayan mountains. 

Next day, you will trek towards Tengboche, where you will visit the oldest monastery of the region, Tengboche monastery. Further, the trail gradually ascends to Gokyo Valley and takes you to Goko village passing through small villages. You will then cross the Renjo La Pass and drop down to Lukla following the same trail. Taking another thrilling flight, you will return to Kathmandu.

Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek difficulty & Altitude Sickness

Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek is a difficult journey in the Khumbu region. The trail crosses challenging Renjo La Pass. Many ascends & descends are involved in the journey with frequent steep and rugged climbing. Likewise, you will walk for 6 to 7 hours a day. You have to be in good shape to go on this trek. Strong physical fitness and stamina are also needed. This trek is not suitable for beginner trekkers. The drastic change in altitude can trigger altitude sickness, however we have added adequate rest days in our itinerary that will help you in acclimatization. Do drink at least 2 liters of water each day to avoid altitude sickness. 

Best time to go on Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek

The best time to go on Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trekking is from March to April and October to November. This is the most preferred time of the year to go on this trek because of stable weather and moderate climate. These months consist of two seasons; spring and autumn. The views are also at its best in the season. Other seasons like monsoon and winter are not a good time to go on Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek 16 Days.

Accommodation & Meals

During your Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek, you will stay overnight in the best guesthouse/lodge as per the availability. All the rooms are on a twin-sharing basis with clean common toilets. The lodge here offers basic facilities. For service like a hot shower, you might have to pay a little money. The meals will be served as per the menu of guesthouse/lodge, still you will have a wide variety of options. You will also find snacks and bars during your trek, but due to high altitude and no transportation, price can go higher than usual. 

Communication & Electricity

You will find internet access during the Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek 16 Days. In fact, after Ncell (Nepalese telecommunication company) established 3G mobile broadband on Gorak Shep at 5,200 meters, one can do live feeds from many places. However, do remember that the internet connection gets unstable due to bad weather. You can also find WiFi service in almost every lodge, but you have to pay an extra charge for it. Similarly, electricity is also available everywhere. You can charge your electric appliances either for free or by paying a few bucks. Caring extra batteries will be a good choice for you.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is recommended to have while Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trekking. It will be back up for you to rely on in case of an emergency. Your travel insurance must cover things like airlift, medical bills, hospital bills, flight cancellation, and loss or theft of the property. Any foreign travelers are not allowed to take out travel insurance in Nepal, so make sure to get one from your country and carry the documents with you.
